TTfT1310. A man divorced his wife with the words “You are permitted to everyone except for a certain man.”- The Sages say it is not a valid divorce. What must he do? He can take the document back and give it to her without conditions.

If he wrote the condition into the Get, even if he erased it later, the Get may not be used.

A question was asked: When he said “except for a certain man,” are we understanding that as “except” or as a condition. If we understand it as an exception, it is possible that in a conditional Get, the Sages would agree that it is a valid Get. This would be like any other condition, (like on condition that you give me $1,000). Or, is this understood as a condition, (but it is still too intrusive to the concept of a Get, to have him dictating who is not included in the Get’s impact).
